Troubleshooting Prerequisites
Before going into more in-depth troubleshooting, you should try a few simpler things that may fix the issue you’re facing.
Restart your Computer: This refreshes system resources, resets network configurations and closes background processes that could be slowing or blocking access to Ubisoft’s servers.Restart your Router: Doing so can clear out any temporary conflicts in IP allocation and network crowding, giving a new connection path to the Ubisoft servers.Check Ubisoft Server Status: Check if Ubisoft’s servers are operational as server outages can cause this issue. You can check Ubisoft’s server status through DownDetector or Official Ubisoft’s social pages.
1. Disable Background Applications
Background applications, especially antivirus softwares, VPNs and firewalls can mess with Ubisoft’s online connectivity. These application may limit or block access, which can prevent Ubisoft from establishing a stable link with its servers. Disabling these applications for some time can allow the system to avoid restrictions or security layers that may be blocking Ubisoft’s services.
Disable Antivirus Software
Disable VPNs
Disable Firewall Temporarily
When done turning all these off, turn off all unnecessary background applications as well (such as browsers and Discord etc). Lastly, restart Ubisoft Connect to check if the issue has been resolved.
2. Flush DNS Cache
DNS cache is a local storage of IP addresses for recent website or services you’ve connected to, it is used to speed up access to the websites by avoiding repeated lookups. Overtime, this stored DNS can become outdated or corrupted and gathers up, which causes network connection errors. Hence, flushing the DNS cache removes any outdated or corrupted cache data, forcing your system to make new ones with updated information.
3. Reset Network Settings
Network setting can also become outdated overtime, so this process restores all network related configurations, such as Wi-Fi settings, IP addresses and VPN configurations to their default state, hence clearing out any conflicting settings or misconfigurations that may be causing this error.
4. Adjust Date and Time Settings
Server synchronization and authentication depend on accurate timings to work, if the date and time settings on your computer are incorrect, it can lead to issues connecting with the Ubisoft’s services. Hence, adjusting the date and time settings of your computer can ensure that your device aligns with Ubisoft’s servers, which may help fix this issue.
5. Reinstall Ubisoft Connect
Once you have tried everything, you can try and reinstall Ubisoft Connect as a last resort, as overtime installation files can become outdated or corrupt due to incomplete updates, system crashes or conflicts with other softwares. So, by reinstalling you make sure that all the necessary files are correctly installed and up to date.
