Before making changes to your device, you can try a quick fix to resolve this issue. Firstly, make sure that your internet connection is working properly. You can try restarting the router or using a different internet connection, such as mobile data via hotspot, to rule out ISP issues. After that, ensure that XDefiant servers are operational by checking the XDefiant social media page or the server status on the Ubisoft website. Once you have done this, you can move on to the following solutions.
1. Delete the proxy_v1.bin File
Proxy_v1.bin contains the network configuration related to the Proxy that might become corrupted, resulting in this issue. By deleting this file, all the network configurations for XDefiant will be set to default, which should resolve this error if it is occurring due to misconfigured network settings related to the Proxy.
2. Use a VPN
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an application that allows users to bypass regional restrictions. A VPN masks the IP address and reroutes the internet connection via different servers. This can help determine whether the problem is with your network connection or not. If you don’t encounter this error after connecting to a VPN, it is clear your network connection is a problem; you should contact your ISP to get your issue resolved. There are tons of VPN applications available online; download any of them for free and connect to any region. We recommend connecting from the same region where you live so you can disconnect the VPN once you have connected to the right server. However, if you encounter the same error message, connect to a different region and then see if this worked or not. If this worked, the region you were trying to connect to may be under maintenance.
3. Flush DNS
Flushing the DNS can clear any outdated or corrupted DNS data that might be affecting the connectivity issues. This will force the system to request the DNS information from the ISP so that your device can accurately translate domain names for the game servers.
4. Change DNS Servers
Misconfigured DNS settings can also lead to connectivity issues. DNS, or Domain Name System, is an essential process that converts the Domain Names for web and game servers into IP addresses to connect to the server. If the DNS is down or not working properly, you could encounter this error. Therefore, change the DNS server to Google DNS to get this error fixed. Google DNS is more reliable and secure than other DNS servers. Therefore, follow the steps to use Google DNS. If the issue is still not fixed, simply wait for the developers to fix it. In the meantime, you can reinstall the game to ensure whether the issue is from the server side or not. Since we have tried everything, including connecting to a VPN, the game servers are probably the root cause of this issue. Still, you can try other ways to ensure the issue is not from your side, like resetting the network settings or using mobile data via hotspot, as suggested at the beginning of this guide.
