On September 10, 2024 (Source), Microsoft officially released this update to all users. Although the initial reception was positive, users soon encountered various issues, including app launch errors and a laggy interface that made creating or editing notes difficult. The legacy Sticky Notes app was simple to use, while the new version, though feature-rich, has introduced complexity. It uses Microsoft’s OneNote to create, edit, and access notes, so OneNote is required on your PC to use the new Sticky Notes. Users began noticing a new application, “Sticky Notes (Preview),” appearing alongside the legacy Sticky Notes app on their computers. The new Sticky Notes version supports several features, including automatic linking to the website or application where a screenshot was taken. For example, capturing a screenshot of Appuals.com with Sticky Notes automatically links the screenshot back to the website, allowing easy navigation by clicking on the image.
Sticky Notes (Preview) Lag Issues
Some users report a laggy experience, particularly when scrolling through notes, which has been disruptive and frustrating for them.
