In some instances, you can also experience game crashes due to additional packs that you may have installed, such as the High-Res Multiplayer Texture Pack. To help you resolve the issue, we have compiled a list of various solutions that you can try.
1. Lock In-Game FPS
The first thing you should do when starting to troubleshoot the constant crashes issue is to limit your in-game FPS. When your in-game frames are not locked, you may end up with an unstable FPS which in most cases can cause the game to crash. This happens when the frames drop significantly in certain areas of the game, noticeable by a laggy experience and crashes in some scenarios. If this is applicable, you can fix the crashing issue by limiting your target frame rate for a more consistent frame rate, and an even smoother experience. To limit your in-game frame rate, simply navigate to the Video Settings menu. There, you can set a minimum and maximum frame rate using the options provided. We would recommend setting the minimum frame rate to 30 and the maximum frame rate to 120. You can adjust this if you have a monitor with a higher hertz rate. Check to see if it fixes the issue.
2. Disable the Discord Overlay
In-game overlays are quite famous now as they allow you to use a third-party application without having to tab out. To achieve this though, the third-party application has to interfere with the game process to some degree, in order to display in-game overlay. In some scenarios, this interference can cause the game to crash. In this case, you will have to disable the in-game overlay to resolve the issue. Discord is one of the most commonly used applications with an overlay, and it can sometimes cause various issues with different games. To disable the in-game overlay of Discord, follow the instructions below. We would also recommend disabling the in-game overlay of any other third-party applications on your computer as well.
3. Update Graphics Drivers
Graphics drivers are an important factor when it comes to game crashes. This is because graphics drivers play a vital role in providing a bridge of communication between the graphics card and motherboard, with its connected components. Certain versions of the NVIDIA graphics drivers have been known to cause the Halo Infinite game to crash. Nvidia recently released a driver that caused some games to crash, such as Halo Infinite. To address the crashing issue, they also released a hotfix driver for their users. Hence, If you own an Nvidia graphics card, it is recommended that you ensure you have either the version before 522.25 or the hotfix version 526.61 or later. If you have been experiencing crashing issues and have not updated your Windows in a while, it is worth trying to update your Windows first. If the issue persists, try other methods. 5. Uninstall High-Res Multiplayer Texture Pack
Multiplayer High-Res Textures is a DLC package that is used to add high textures in Halo Infinite. Even though it allows users to play multiplayer with more realistic textures, it also causes Halo infinite to crash as it uses more GPU power. Therefore, try uninstalling Multiplayer High-Res Textures DLC if you used it. The DLC is not included by default, and you can easily uninstall it via Steam if it has been already installed. 6. Remove Overclock
Usually, overclocking the components on your motherboard can provide a performance boost. As such, overclocking can be helpful when done properly. However, while it does have benefits, there are instances where it can cause issues with certain games on your computer.
